The Thoughts and Beliefs of an Imperfect Patriot.

Thursday, February 24th

With so much going on in the news today, I decided to write about some of those things that I, and many like me, believe in.

First of all, I am against amnesty for illegal immigrants. American citizens want our borders secured! I am not against Hispanics but I am against illegal entry into this country. It’s a felony. I am against illegal immigrants being able to; get on our welfare rolls, take our jobs away from the millions of Americans who are trying so hard to find employment in these dark economic hours, force us to become bilingual in order to even get a job in our own country, and force us to watch while they drag our flag in the mud…or set it on fire…or take it down from a flagpole…while waving the Mexican flag in our face. They do not need amnesty. They need to be deported! And if there aren’t enough agents to do this, I’m sure there are thousands of unemployed American Citizens who would be willing to help for minimum wage payment…or even for free. Our Federal Immigration Laws are not broken. They are simply not being enforced by our Federal government…and this needs to stop.

I am against unions because, while they definitely served a purpose in the 1930’s, they have become a Political Machine now. They hold employers such as state governments hostage to their demands by calling for statewide and nationwide strikes if their demands aren’t met…while enjoying better pay and benefits than the majority of non-unionized workers ever will. In fact, when the benefits and pension plans are included, a retired union worker (who only has to work for 25 years before retiring) can actually end up living on more money than he/she did during their working years.

It’s because of the unions of old that we now have a myriad of state and federal laws protecting employees, both young and old, so I say ‘thank you’ to them…but just as the horse and buggy made way for the automobile, it’s time to disband the unions of today. They have become too politically powerful and have more say in what our government will or won’t do than the Taxpayers of this country…and no organization should ever be more powerful than the American Voter.

I am against racism. People come in all shapes, sizes, and colors. We are like the Christmas packages under the Christmas tree. If we all looked the same, this world would be pretty boring. And to judge someone’s actions or beliefs based on their skin color is wrong because skin color doesn’t make a person do or say anything…it’s the person’s ‘computer’ or brain that processes information and decides how to react to situations based on previous experiences and teachings. If we treated everyone with respect and dignity, nobody would care what their own skin color was (except maybe wishing for a better tan) because it wouldn’t be an issue.

And we need to keep racism out of our political remarks…especially as Conservatives…if we wish to have any chance at all of being listened to by others who may be sitting on the political fence, not sure which side to join with.

I am against Sharia Law and all attempts by anyone to force this to exist as part of our legal system in the United States. And while the Mosque can legally be built at Ground Zero in New York City, it shouldn’t be built there!

We have become so politically correct that we no longer have any standards to live by. We are constantly monitoring ourselves to not step on any toes, and now find ourselves being trampled on by those who do not love our Constitution, our Freedoms, and our priviledges as a free people but, instead, will hide behind our Constitutional laws for protection while preaching their desire to bring our country down.

Our Forefathers, when writing the Constitution, wrote that we were to defend our country “against all enemies, both foreign and domestic”. They didn’t go into detail of just what an “enemy” is because they expected us to use our commonsense! We need to wake up…and quickly…or we may soon find that we live exactly where we did yesterday but it’s no longer in The United States of America.

Just like the song says, I’m proud to be an American…God bless the U. S. A. !
