The War Powers Resolution: An Unnecessary, Unconstitutional Source of "Friendly Fire" in the War Against International Terrorism? » Publications » The Federalist Society

Because of President Obama's insertion of our military troops into the current Libyan Civil War without Congress's approval, he has acted against our country's Constitutional requirement of this.

Also, some feel that the War Powers Resolution of 1973 allows for bypassing our Constitution's requirement regarding who can give approval to enter a war. I, however, believe that this Resolution is unconstitutional and illegal since all laws made in the United States are required to be in AGREEMENT with our Constitution. Our Constitution is not supposed to be followed only when it's convenient to do so...it is to be FOLLOWED. Period.

While I found many sites showing the unconstitutional points, this article below which was written in 2005 best outlines the reasons why the War Powers Resolution of 1973 is UNCONSTITUTIONAL and, therefore, illegal. And while it was written six years ago, it is still viable to this date.

I apologize for it's length...but sometimes we just have to do more 'homework' than usual. However, I feel our Constitution is worth fighting for which means we must educate ourselves even when it's not convenient. Thanks for taking the time to do this. :)
